Blogging Rules

The following  complies with the National Curriculum objectives and the ICT Key Skills that the children are expected to learn and apply.

Blogs can be very exciting, it allows people from all over the world to view and share our learning and leave comments on our Blog site.

There are a few very important simple rules to remember in order to stay safe and to get the most out of our blogs. It is very important that we understand how to use the blog site and the internet in a secure way.

The following rules have been setup to ensure the safety of our pupils when blogging. We encourage our pupils on how to use the blogs in order to improve their writing and keyboarding skills.

Please follow our blogging rules:

  • Only use your first name when commenting – no surnames.
  • Relatives who leave comments are also asked to use their first name only or to post comments as “Jane’s Mum” or “Ahmed’s Grandfather”.
  • Keep safe – don’t reveal any personal information like address and phone numbers.
  • No text talk – write in full sentences and read your comments back carefully before submitting. Always use the same language you are expected to use when you are in school.
  • Always think before you post (if in doubt leave it out!).
  • Always ask the people in a photo before you put it into a blog post.
  • Be polite – don’t post anything that could hurt anyone.
  • Always show respect  – be positive if you are going to comment, even when giving advice on something you do not agree with and always remember that the blog is an extension of our school that the rest of the world is able to see.
  • Tell someone sensible if you see something you don’t like.

If you have any concerns about the security of this blog site and the blog comments then please feel free to contact Mr Khan.
